Ruth Hudnut

Ruth Irene Hudnut passed away Saturday, June 6, 2015, after a brief illness. She was born in Chicago, Illinois on November 26, 1933. She was preceded in death by parents John and Elizabeth (Vitek) Bukovsan and her brother, John Bukovsan. She is survived by her husband of 63 years, William (Bill) Hudnut, and brother, Bill (Laura) Bukovsan. She is also survived by her children, Daniel (Mary) Hudnut, Joanne (Richard) Mearns, and Nancy (Timothy) Gergen. She has two grandchildren, Lisa Perdue, and Lynn Yonker, and four great-grandchildren, Tyler, Hayden, Alex, and Lucy. She also leaves behind her precious canine guardian, Ginger. Ruth was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church, and member of the Elsie Greer Circle. She loved flowers and loved gardening. She made all those who knew her laugh with her wonderful sense of humor. She loved nature, camping, and traveled by car/camper from Spartanburg to Alaska with her husband, three times from 1996 to 2004. She and her family traveled and camped in 43 of the 50 states. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her. Visitation will be 4:00 - 6:00 PM, Tuesday, June 9, 2015, Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 East Main Street, Spartanburg, SC 29307. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Mobile Meals Service, P.O. Box 461, Spartanburg, SC 29304.
