Ruth Gosnell

Ruth Carson Gosnell, 89, of 820 West Main Street, died Thursday, March 12, 2009, at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. Born July 16, 1919, in Spartanburg County, SC, she was the daughter of the late Lindsay and Ruth Foster Carson and the wife of the late Harold Boyd Gosnell. A graduate of Robinson's Business College, she was, with her husband, the owner and operator of the Western Auto Store in Pacolet. She was an active member of Pacolet United Methodist Church. Survivors include a son, Harry Gosnell and his wife Vicki of Pacolet; a daughter, Maxine Gosnell Calvert and her husband Harry of Goose Creek; four granddaughters, Diane Compton and her husband David, Lori Lominack and her husband Jamie, Debbie Leschak, and Kelli Hardigree and her husband Matt; and eleven great-grandchildren. Visitation will be 1:30-2:45 p.m. Sunday, March 15, 2009, at Pacolet United Methodist Church. Funeral services will follow at 3:00 p.m. at the Church conducted by the Rev. Patricia McCain and the Rev. Norman L. Band. Burial will be in Pacolet Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Pacolet United Methodist Church, P. O.
