Ruth Fowler Conselyea, 80, of Spartanburg, died Friday, December 27, 2013, at Mary Black Memorial Hospital. Born February 3, 1933, in Union, SC, she was a daughter of the late Ernest Boyd Fowler and Bernice Gossett Fowler, and the widow of William Cranston Conselyea. She was a member of Montgomery Memorial United Methodist Church. Survivors include a son, Terry Conselyea of Pacolet; sisters, Martha Wells (Mitchell) of Pacolet and Betty Linder of Spartanburg; grandsons, William Michael Conselyea, Charles Paul Anderson, and James Roger Anderson; special niece, Janice Keith (Roy) of Pacolet; and additional nieces and nephews. Mrs. Conselyea was predeceased by a daughter, Brenda Bostic; sisters, Mildred Thompson, Lunette Owens, and Mary Gentry; and brothers, Foster Fowler, Boyd Fowler, Jr., Bobby Fowler, and Marvin Fowler. Visitation will be 2:00-2:45 PM on Tuesday, December 31, 2013, at Floyd's Pacolet Chapel, 141 Memorial Drive, Pacolet, SC 29372. Funeral services will follow at 3:00 PM at the chapel, conducted by the Rev. Bette Hedden. Burial will be in Pacolet Memorial Gardens.
