Ruth Bishop

Ruth Burke Bishop, 86, formerly of 534 North Fairview Avenue, Spartanburg, SC, died Saturday, February 8, 2014, at Inman Health Care. Born May 10, 1927, in Chesnee, SC, she was the daughter of the late Broadus and Mary Price Burke. She was retired from Beaumont Mills and a member of Beaumont Baptist Church. Survivors include daughters, Joyce Hayes (Charles) of Spartanburg and Gail Lee (Jim) of Pacolet, SC; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Graveside services will be held at 3:00 PM on Sunday, February 9, 2014, at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Road, Spartanburg, SC 29307, conducted by the Rev. Rupert E. Guest, the Rev. John Cox, and the Rev. Steven A. McLain. Visitation will follow the service at the graveside. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Beaumont Baptist Church Building Fund, 945 Beaumont Avenue Ext., Spartanburg, SC 29303. The family is at their respective homes.
