Ruffner Campbell

Ruffner Campbell, 88, of Spartanburg, SC, died Tuesday, June 2, 2015, at Magnolia Manor-Inman. Born November 21, 1926, in Asheville, NC, he was the son of the late William Henry Ruffner Campbell and Myrtle Campbell. Mr. Campbell, a World War II Veteran and graduate of North Carolina State, was a retired mechanical engineer with Reliance Electric Corporation. He was a commissioner with the Westview Fire Department; a member of the Sparkle City Car Club and a member of Covenant Presbyterian Church where he served as an Elder. Surviving are his beloved wife of 57 years, Ann S. Campbell; son, David Campbell; daughter, Susan Campbell Clark and grandchildren, Daniel Ruffner Clark and Kathryn Ann Clark all of Spartanburg. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sister, Elizabeth Burton. A celebration of life service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, June 6, 2015, at Covenant Presbyterian Church, 880 W. O. Ezell Blvd., Spartanburg, SC 29301, conducted by the Rev. Robert H. Brozina. Visitation will follow the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Covenant Presbyterian Church Building Fund, 880 W. O. Ezell Blvd., Spartanburg, SC 29301, or the Parkinson's Disease Research Center Emory University, 1440 Clifton Rd. NE, Suite 170, Atlanta, GA 30322.
