Rudolph Duerksen

Rudolph "Rudy" Duerksen, 85, of Spartanburg, SC, died Monday, June 10, 2013, at Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home. Born April 30, 1928, in Leamington, Ontario, Canada, he was the son of the late Peter and Mary Friesen Duerksen. Mr. Duerksen was a member of Nazareth Presbyterian Church, Moore, SC, where he was also a church elder. He was retired from Arrow Automotive and had served as a Junior Achievement advisor. Survivors include his beloved wife of 63 years, Molly Doyle Duerksen; sons, Peter Lloyd Alexander Duerksen (Debra) of Raleigh, NC, Ricky Steven Duerksen (Jayne), and Kirk Anthony Duerksen (Shelley), all of Spartanburg, SC; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a sister, Martha D. Fell of Guelph, Ontario, Canada; nieces, nephews, and cousins in Ontario, Canada. He was predeceased by a daughter, Trudy Duerksen Richey; a son, Christopher Arthur Duerksen; and brothers, Alfred Duerksen and Arthur Duerksen. Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 PM Wednesday, June 12, 2013, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 E. Main St., Spartanburg, SC 29307. A memorial service will be conducted at 4:00 PM Thursday, June 13, 2013, at Nazareth Presbyterian Church by The Rev. David H. Sutton. Burial will be private.
