Ruby Emory McIntyre

Ruby Emory McIntyre, age 99, of Spartanburg SC passed away on Friday, August 4th, 2023, at White Oak Estates after a brief illness.

Born in Reidville, SC on February 12th, 1924, to Bertie Emory, she was the wife of the late Claude McIntyre. Ruby graduated from WLT (Byrnes) High School in 1942 and attended Cecil’s Business College. During her professional career, she was most notably a dietician for Spartanburg School District 6. She will be remembered for her love of God, her love of family, and her amazing chocolate cakes.

She was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her son, Philip McIntyre; and two brothers, Stan Emory, and Edward Emory.

She is survived by her daughter, Clara Love McIntyre; her grandson, Phil McIntyre Jr.; three great-grandsons, Nicholas, Kyle, and Luke McIntyre; Kathy Jennings Holcomb (Phil’s mother); two sisters-in-law, Joyce McIntyre, and Kate Haulbrooks; and two special nieces, Lisa Emory, and Jean Beaty-Bradley. She also leaves behind several nieces, nephews, cousins, and an even greater number of friends whose lives she touched.

A private graveside service will be held at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. Also, a Celebration of her Life will be held at Westminster Presbyterian Church on Saturday, August 19,2023, at 1:00 pm conducted by Rev. Dale Rawlings. A visitation will follow.

The family would like to express special thanks to Amedisys Hospice and Spartanburg Regional Hospice for their care and compassion.
