Ruby Guy

Ruby Melinda Patterson Guy, 92, of Spartanburg, SC, died Tuesday, January 19, 2016, at her home. Born October 21, 1923, in Pickens, SC, she was the daughter of the late Tillman and Clove Evatt Patterson and widow of Herbert Lee Guy. Mrs. Guy was a member of Una First Freewill Baptist Church and retired from Spartan Mills. Survivors include her children, Patricia Bryant (Ed) of Spartanburg, SC, Danny Guy (Pat) of N. Augusta, SC, and Rick Guy (Bunnie) of Spartanburg, SC; 17 grandchildren; 42 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren; 1 sister; 3 half-sisters; and 2 half-brothers. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by 1 grandson; 1 sister; 1 half-brother; 3 half-sisters; and her step-mother, Pauline Patterson. Visitation will be 1:00-1:45 PM Friday, January 22, 2016, at Una First Freewill Baptist Church. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 PM, at the church, conducted by the Rev. Kenneth Cash, the Rev. Doyle Pruitt, and the Rev. Ray Hollifield. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Park, 1955 Cannons Campground Rd., Spartanburg, SC 29307.
