Ruby Smith Bullington, 87, of Spartanburg, followed her husband of 64 years, Rev. J. Edward Bullington, and their daughter, Sandra, into the presence of her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, March 31, 2010. Born February 13, 1923, in Darlington, SC, she was the daughter of the late Clayton and Viola Fields Smith. She was a member of New Prospect Baptist Church. Survivors include a son, Joe Bullington of Mayo; daughters, Jessie Powell and her husband Lynn of Boiling Springs, and Kim Newman and her husband Marshall of Whitney; a brother, Arthur Smith of Charlotte, NC; grandchildren, Matt, Tracy, Mandy, Page, Jeffrey, Emily, and Joni; and great-grandchildren, Kenin, Shelby, Clay, Nate, and Kayley. She was predeceased by a daughter, Sandra Jeanne Bullington; a sister, Ethel Deese; and two brothers, Ralph and Oscar Smith. Visitation will be 10:00-11:15 a.m. Friday, April 2, 2010, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel. Funeral services will follow at 11:30 a.m. at the Chapel conducted by the Rev. Jack Hames, the Rev. Matthew Osment, and the Rev. Danny Garrett. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Park.
