Ruby Adams

September 21, 1926 — January 11, 2011

Ruby Lee Adams, 84, of Spartanburg, entered into eternal heaven and her final resting place on January 11, 2011 at Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home. Born September 21, 1926, in Spartanburg, SC, she was the daughter of the late Lloyd and Bonnie McAbee and wife of the late Mr. William D. (Chick) Adams. Mrs. Adams was employed by Spartan Mills for 37 years in the Spinning Department. She was a member of Covenant Baptist Church. Survivors include her daughter, Brenda J. Adams of Canyon Lake, CA; two sons, W. Ray Adams (wife Sandra) of Greer and C. Glenn Adams (wife Linda) of Spartanburg, S.C.; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and her loving pet companion Phoebe. She was predeceased by two brothers, Mr. Ed McAbee and Burlin McAbee. Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 p.m. Friday, January 14, 2011 at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 noon Saturday, January 15, 2011 at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, conducted by the Rev. Gary Hensley. Entombment will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens Mausoleum Complex. Memorials may be made to Spartanburg Regional Hospice House, 686 Jeff Davis Drive, Spartanburg, SC 29303. The family is at the home of Mrs. Ruby Adams. We would like to thank all those who took care of Ruby during her long illness including her two loving granddaughters, Allison Dimsdale and Melissa Clayton, her church family, the gracious staff at Summitt Hills, and the wonderful caring staff at Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home.
