Roy Roach, Sr.

Roy Lee Roach, Sr., 93, of Lyman, SC, died Thursday, January 30, 2014. Born November 21, 1920, in Spartanburg County, he was the son of the late Vance and Ada Johnson Roach. Mr. Roach was retired from Southern Dairy and was a member of Jackson Baptist Church. He was predeceased by his first wife, of 47 years, Nelleen Pruitt Roach, his second wife, Ovileen Roach, and is survived by his third wife, Mary Martha Barrett Roach of Woodruff, SC. He is also survived by his children, Sandra Smith of Spartanburg, SC, and David Roach of Greenville, SC; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a sister, Ruth Vandiver of Lugoff, SC. He was also predeceased by a son, Roy Lee Roach, Jr.; sisters, Eva Roach and Mary Roper; and brothers, Guy Roach, Bubba Roach, and J. V. Roach. Visitation will be 7:00-9:00 PM Saturday, February 1, 2014, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 E. Main St., Spartanburg, SC 29307. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:30 PM Sunday, February 2, 2014, at Jackson Baptist Church l, by the Rev. Jim McMakin, the Rev. Keith Kelly, and eulogist, Kathy Cort. Burial will be in Fort Prince Memorial Gardens, 125 Fort Prince Road, Wellford, SC 29385.
