Roy Martin

George Roy Martin, 80, of Moore, died Sunday, December 6, 2009, at Life Care of Columbia. Born September 22, 1929, in Ninety Six, SC, he was the son of the late Joseph Guy and Minnie Patton Martin. He was a disabled World War II Veteran of the U.S. Army-Air Corp. Survivors include a daughter, Marcell Messer and her husband Kenneth of Moore; two grandchildren, Kenny Messer and Leslie Lord; and three great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by a daughter, Shierry Martin. Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 9, 2009, at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens conducted by the Rev. Danny Cannon. The family will receive friends following the service at the graveside.
