Roy Greene

Roy Calvin Greene, 78, of Spartanburg, died Thursday, August 11, 2011, at his home. Born July 28, 1933, in Spartanburg County, he was the son of the late Bony Roosevelt and Corene Blackwell Greene. Mr. Greene was a veteran of the U. S. Army. He was a member of Grace Baptist Church, Landrum, SC, and retired from Arrow Automotive. Survivors include his loving wife, Marie Griswold Greene; daughters, Iris G. Elliott and husband Michael D. of Woodruff, and Janice G. Brown and husband Brian of Inman; grandchildren, Marcia Ward and husband John of Woodruff, Patrick Elliot and wife Heather of Woodruff, Lacy Grant and husband Erick of Inman, and Dillon Brown of Inman; great-grandsons, David Ward of Woodruff, and Harrison Ward of Woodruff; great-granddaughter, Brynn Grant of Inman; and a sister, Margaret Lawson of Spartanburg. Graveside visitation will be 10:00-10:45 AM Saturday, August 13, 2011, in Boiling Springs Memorial Gardens. Services will follow at 11:00 AM, at the graveside, conducted by the Rev. Andrew Shull and Pastor James Julian. "Taps" will be played by his grandson, Dillon Brown.
