Roy Edge

Roy Cecil Edge, 74, of 160 Allen Street, died Saturday, July 2, 2011, at Hospice House of the Carolina Foothills, Landrum, SC. Born December 21, 1936 in Cherokee County, SC, he was the son of the late Troy Webster and Bessie Bonner Edge. He was retired from General Electric, of the Baptist faith and a veteran of the U. S. Army. Survivors include his wife, Sandra Kirby Edge of the home; a son, Chip Edge of Rutherfordton, NC; two daughters, Tracy Hume of Atlanta, GA and Dale Burgess of Pacolet, SC; five grandsons, Seth Edge, Clayton Burgess, Brandon Burgess, Joey Hume, and Steven Mitchem; two granddaughters, Abby Edge and Natsha Estes; a brother Bill Edge; and two sisters, Pam Easler of Spartanburg and Patra Ford of Union. He was predeceased by two brothers, Hugh and Clyde Edge. Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 Tuesday, July 5, 2011 at Floyd's Pacolet Chapel. Funeral services will be at 11:00 Wednesday, July 6, 2011 at Floyd's Pacolet Chapel, conducted by the Rev. Jerry Ford. Burial will be in Pacolet Memorial Gardens.
