Roy A. Bussey, Sr., 93, of Spartanburg, died Thursday, November 11, 2010, at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. Born July 31, 1917 in Spartanburg, he was the son of the late Joseph L. and George Dorn Bussey and the husband of Linda Hefner Bussey. He was first married to the late Pauline "Peggy" Bussey. A graduate of Spartanburg High School and Wofford College, he was the owner/operator of Nash Electric Supply and a member of Southside Baptist Church, where he was a teacher of the Win-One Sunday School Class. He was a member of Morgan Lodge # 22 Knights of Pythias for over 50 years. In addition to his wife, survivors include a son, Allen (Brenda) Bussey; a sister, Edna Boney; a stepdaughter, Lindy Brown; a stepson, John Ballew; six grandchildren, Jonathan, April, Laura (Luke), Amanda, Ashley, and Allison; three great-grandchildren, Ashlynn, Blayne, and Landon; three brothers-in-law, Mr. & Mrs. Michael Hefner, Mr. & Mrs. Howard Hefner, and Mr. & Mrs. Defoy Padgett; and five sisters-in law, Bobbie Jean McDaniel, Carolyn Snipes, Eunice Belue, Mrs. & Mr. Ellen Bechler, and Judy Etters. He was predeceased by a daughter, Margaret Gould and a brother, Joe Bussey. Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 PM Saturday, November 13, 2010 at Floyd's North Church Street Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, November 14, 2010 at Floyd's North Church Street Chapel. Burial will be in West Oakwood Cemetery.
