Roy Bell

Roy Dean Bell, 67, of 147 Deerwood Lane, died Saturday, January 9, 2010, at his home. Born December 28, 1942, in Kings Mountain, NC, he was the son of the late Robert Marcus and Peralie Mae McGinnis Bell and the husband of the late Barbara Sue Curry Bell. He was retired from the Civil Service and the U.S. Air Force, having served in Vietnam. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Gaffney, the Air Force Sergeants Association, VFW, and American Legion. Survivors include a son, Roy Kenneth Bell and his wife Mary of Petersburg, VA; a granddaughter, Kiara Michelle Bell of Gaffney; three brothers, James R. Bell and Troy G. Bell, both of Taylorsville, NC, and John C. Bell of Statesville, NC; and two sisters, Judy Childers of Cherryville, NC, and Trudy Bumgarner of Lincolnton, NC. Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 12, 2010, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel. Graveside services with full military honors will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 13, 2010, in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens conducted by the Rev. Terry E. Pleasant.
