Roxanne Thornton McNeely, 54, passed away on Wednesday, January 6, 2010, at her home in Glenn Springs after an extended illness. Born February 3, 1955, in Spartanburg, SC, she was the daughter of the late Sam Thornton, Jr. and Gladys Cunningham Thornton. She was married to John Michael McNeely, formerly from Charleston, SC. A 1973 graduate of Dorman High School, Mrs. McNeely was employed by Caf Enterprises in Duncan, SC, the home of Fatz Cafes. She was formerly employed with Dennys home office. She was an Elder in the Glenn Springs Presbyterian Church and former president of the Pauline-Glenn Springs Elementary School PTO. Surviving in addition to her husband, Michael, are three daughters, Hope Warren and husband Phillip of Pauline, Anna Davis and husband Brandon of Fort Bragg, NC, and Sarah McNeely Diaz of Spartanburg. She was Nana to Zachary, Kyle and Kaylee Warren, Klayten Davis, and Madison Diaz. Also surviving is her sister, Beverly Turner and husband Dennis of Spartanburg; her brother, Phillip Thornton and wife Candy of Glenn Springs; numerous nieces and nephews; and her loving Jack Russell Terrier, Zoey. She was predeceased by a sister, Donna T. Sams. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Friday, January 8, 2010, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 9, 2010, at Glenn Springs Presbyterian Church Cemetery conducted by the Rev. Dr. B. E. Pettit. Memorials may be made to Glenn Springs Presbyterian Church Building Fund, P. O. Box 279, Pauline, SC 29374. The family is at the home, 4052 Glenn Springs Road, Pauline, SC 29374.
