Rowena Tessnier

Rowena Tessnier, 88, formerly of Pacolet, died Friday, March 29, 2013, at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. Born August 9, 1924, in Pacolet, she was a daughter of the late John and Elvira Weathers Kirby and the widow of Willie (Bill) Tessnier. She was a member of Pacolet United Methodist Church. Survivors include sons, the Rev. Dennis E. Tessnier (Ellen), Danny W. Tessnier (Cathy), all of Pacolet, and Ricky G. Tessnier (Debbie) of Goucher, SC; daughter, Peggy T. Phillips (Donald) of Pacolet; ten grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and a number of nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by four brothers and two sisters. Visitation will be 2:00-2:45 PM on Monday, April 1, 2013, at Floyd's Pacolet Chapel. Funeral services will follow at 3:00 PM at the Chapel, conducted by the Rev. Dennis E. Tessnier. Burial will in Pacolet Memorial Gardens. The family is at the home of her daughter, 3166 Cowpens Pacolet Road, Pacolet, SC.
