Rosemary Theresa Hanley, 96, of Spartanburg, SC, died Monday, November 29, 2021 at Upstate Community Hospice Home. Born May 18, 1925 in Jersey City, NJ, she was the daughter of the late John Frederick and Mary King Knospe and was the wife of the late Thomas Peter Hanley.
Rosemary was retired from The SC Department of Health and Environmental Control, after many years of service. She then volunteered at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. An avid reader and knitter, she also enjoyed sewing, baking and hiking.
Survivors include her daughters, Karen Gibson (Randy) of Vandalia, OH, Trish Edgerton (Allen) of Spartanburg, SC and Rosemary Harakas (George) of Greer, SC; her son, Thomas Hanley of Spartanburg, SC; five grandchildren, Jonathan Gibson, William Gibson, John Edgerton, Sarah Harakas, and Maggie Harakas; five great grandchildren, Josh, Quentin, Samantha, Genevieve and Emma. She was also predeceased by her siblings, Al, Joseph, and Catherine.
A Memorial service will be 10:00 AM Saturday, December 4, 2021 at Upstate Community Hospice House Chapel, 260 Fairwinds Drive, Landrum, SC 29356.
