Roselyn Bundy Thomas, of Spartanburg, died Thursday, August 2, 2012, at Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home. Born December 1, 1926, in Elizabeth City, Pasquotank County, NC, she was the widow of William Benfield Thomas, and daughter of the late Thomas Otis and Dixie Anna Swindell Bundy. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, "Rose" attended, and was a member, of First Presbyterian Church. Her life was a life of service to others as a caregiver and counselor to her friends and family. She loved to swim, read, cook, enjoyed the company of her friends, and sang for many years with her husband who was a minister of music. Surviving are her daughters, Margaret Thomas Thompson and husband Anthony of Spartanburg, SC; Mary Thomas Bernitt and husband David of Roanoke, VA; grandchildren, Alice Ratterree and husband Chad, Andrew Tillotson and wife Elisabeth, Melissa Bernitt, and Chris Bernitt; great-grandchildren, Charles Wilson Ratterree, Helen Honour Ratterree, and Eleanora Charlotte Tillotson. Visitation will be 9:30-10:30 AM Saturday, August 18, 2012, in the parlor at First Presbyterian Church. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 AM, in the chapel, at First Presbyterian Church, conducted by the Rev. Dr. William L. Arthur. Entombment will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens Heritage Chapel Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home, 686 Jeff Davis Drive, Spartanburg, SC 29303; or First Presbyterian Church, 393 East Main Street, Spartanburg, SC 29302.
