Rose Graves

Rose Mary McDowell Graves, 96, of Spartanburg, SC, widow of Edwin Budden Graves Jr., went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, June 20, 2018, at Physical Rehab & Wellness-Spartanburg. Born October 9, 1921, in Spartanburg, she was the daughter of the late Thella Augustus McDowell and Rose Aleen Owens Brown. She was raised by her grandparents, the late Dr. and Mrs. Herbert E. McDowell. A member of First Baptist Church, Mrs. Graves loved her family. She was a 1938 graduate of Spartanburg High School and received an Associate's Degree from Cecil's Business College. Survivors include her daughters, Marjorie Jean Flint (Lewis) of Spartanburg, SC, Carole Graves Mace of Morganton, NC, Lynne Graves Hall (predeceased) and her husband, Charles Hall of Spartanburg, SC; grandchildren, Jeff Flint (Ki Nang), Renee Mace (Joey), Win Flint, Ricky Hall (Allison), Eddie Hall, Buddy Hall (Amanda), and Amy Hall; nine great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. Visitation will be 1:00-1:45 PM Saturday, June 23, 2018, in Davis Chapel at First Baptist Church Spartanburg, 250 E. Main St., Spartanburg, SC 29306, with funeral services following at 2:00 PM, conducted by The Rev. Buddy Hall. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Rd., Spartanburg, SC 29307.
