Rosalie Tucker

Rosalie McAbee Tucker, 86, of 154 Octavia Drive, died Friday, May 8, 2009, at Valley Falls Terrace. Born April 9, 1923, in Spartanburg, SC, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Theonda Towery McAbee and wife of the late George Marion Tucker. She was retired from Butte Knit after twenty one years of service, a member of the Eastern Star, Montgomery Lodge, and of the Baptist faith. Survivors include a nephew, Ronnie McAbee and his wife Sandra; a niece, Freda Doughty and her husband Keith; two great-nieces, Cindy Gwinn and Denise Washburn; and two great-nephews, Randy McAbee and Freddie McAbee. She was predeceased by two sisters, Irene McAbee Cole and Geneva Pettit; and a great-niece, Rhonda McAbee. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Visitation will be 12:30-1:45 p.m. Monday, May 11, 2009, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 p.m. at the Chapel conducted by the Rev. Dr. Keith Taylor. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Spartanburg Regional Hospice Special Needs Fund, 120 Heywood Avenue, Suite 300, Spartanburg, SC 29302.
