Ronald “Ronnie” Wayne Metz, 69, of Chesnee, SC went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, August 15, 2021 at Spartanburg Medical Center – Mary Black Campus. Born February 14, 1952 in Boiling Springs, SC, he was the loving husband of Wanda Williams Metz for 46 years. He was the son of the late Jeff Kinard and Edith Fleming Metz.
A US Navy veteran, Mr. Metz was formerly employed with Duke Energy for 28 years and retired from Jones, Lang, Lasalle.
Ronnie was a 1970 graduate of Boiling Springs High School and earned an Associate’s degree at Spartanburg Technical College, now named Spartanburg Community College. He enjoyed hunting, horseback riding, and classic cars. He was a member of Casey Creek Baptist Church.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Jeffery Metz (Sabrena) of Lexington, SC, daughters Shannon Philips (Travis) and Lindsey Metz, both of Inman, SC, six grandchildren, Lydia Metz, Jada Metz, Marley Sim, Knox Phillips, Charlotte Phillips, and Jessa Phillips, a sister, Trudy Shaw (Jerry) of Inman, SC, along with numerous nieces, nephews, brothers-in-laws, and sisters-in-law.
Services will be private.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Casey Creek Baptist Church, 1199 Casey Creek Road, Chesnee, SC 29323.
