Ronald "Ron" Douglas Waddell, 68, of Spartanburg, died Wednesday, February 29, 2012, at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. Born July 16, 1943, in Spartanburg, he was the son of the late Woodrow Wilson and Zora Elizabeth Brown Waddell. Mr. Waddell retired from Union Camp with over 30 years of service. He was a member of Central Baptist Church of Cowpens. He was also a member of Cowpens-Converse Masonic Lodge #210 and the Hejaz Shrine. Survivors include his beloved wife of 39 years, Evelyn Womick Waddell; daughters, Rhonda Waddell and her fiancée Ronnie Emory of Spartanburg and Alecia Gilmore and her husband Jay of Boiling Springs; grandchildren, Brittany Yerkes, Morgan Gilmore, Will Gilmore, Walker Gilmore, and Madison Gilmore; and sister, Shirley Waddell of Spartanburg. He was predeceased by a brother, Harold Waddell. Visitation will be 1:30-2:30 PM Friday, March 2, 2012, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel. Funeral services will follow at 3:00 PM, in the Chapel, conducted by the Rev. Michael Evans and the Rev. Brian Waddell. Entombment with Masonic rites will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens Heritage Chapel Mausoleum.
