Ron Davidson, 64, of Spartanburg, entered into his eternal salvation Friday, September 7, 2012 at Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home. He was born March 16, 1948, in Florence, SC, to his wonderful and loving parents, Vassy and Ruth Hill Davidson. A graduate of Southside High School in Florence, SC, Spartanburg Jr. College, and The University of Georgia, he was also a member of Morningside Baptist Church and a former member of Elin Baptist Church in Florence. Ron was retired from several positions held over the years and was most recently employed by The J. F. Floyd Mortuary, an association he cherished. Ron is survived by the mother of his children and the love of his life, Mary Jane Baker Davidson; his wonderful son, Brantley; special mother-in-law, Janet Baker; sister-in-law, Linda Painter and husband Dean; sister-in-law, Marcia Baker; brother-in-law, Richard Baker; and "Pappy Ron's" sweet girl, Morgan Rucker. In Florence, he is survived by his uncle and aunt, Lanier and Lucille Davidson; aunt, Bee Davidson; close cousins, Jo Justus, Mike and Judy Vause, and Cathy and Thomas McKenzie; also nephews, Hart Davidson and Josh Davidson; and numerous other special cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. In addition to his parents and grandparents, he was predeceased by his maternal grandmother, Lola P. Hill; his loving brother, Tim Davidson; his father-in-law, Warren E. Baker; his brother-in-law, Donald Anthony Baker; and his precious son, Blake Davidson. Visitation will be 2:30-3:30 PM Monday, September 10, 2012 at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 E. Main Street, Spartanburg, SC 29307. Funeral services will follow at 4:00 PM, at the Chapel, conducted by the Rev. Dr. Kirk H. Neely, the Rev. Guy Langston, and the Rev. Andy Case. Private burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. Honorary escort will be employees of The J. F. Floyd Mortuary. Ron loved them all. Ron and his family want to thank all friends and family for their love and support.
