Ronald L. Burke, 80, of Moore, SC, went to his heavenly home on Thursday, September 14, 2017, at Spartanburg Medical Center. Born January 22, 1937, in Clarkesville, GA, he was the son of the late Robert Taylor Burke and Louise Holcombe Burke and was husband to the late Betty Collins Burke. Mr. Burke was a big fan of the Atlanta Braves and also enjoyed NASCAR and dirt track racing. He was a member of Northbrook Baptist Church and retired from Fluor Daniel. Survivors include his son, John Lawson of Pauline, SC; daughter, Sherry Strickland (Scott) of Roebuck, SC; four grandchildren, Holly Bagwell (Jay), Jonathan Lawson (Jessica), Haley Strickland, and Tyler Strickland; six great-grandchildren, Jacey Bagwell, Lawson Bagwell, Amelia Bagwell, Addyson Lawson, Avery Lawson, and Isaiah Strickland; brothers and sisters, Lee Burke, Hugh Burke, Willard Burke, Dan Burke, Florence Wikle, and Ann Appling. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a brother, Bobby Burke. Visitation will be 1:30-2:45 PM Sunday, September 17, 2017, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 E. Main St., Spartanburg, SC 29307. Funeral services will follow at 3:00 PM, at the Chapel, conducted by the Rev. Dr. Benny Green. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Rd., Spartanburg, SC 29307. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Northbrook Baptist Church General Fund, 1881 Boiling Springs Rd., Boiling Springs, SC 29316. The family is at the home of Ronald Burke.
