Roland Gene “Croby” Phillips, of Pacolet, SC died Friday, July 1, 2022. Born September 22, 1936, he was the son of the late Elbert and Nellie Phillips Teaster.
Gene was a retired machinist for Norfolk-Southern Railroad at Southern Shops. He was a member of Pacolet United Methodist Church and was a former Shriner. He loved hunting and fishing, and was a fan of softball, baseball and golf.
Gene was a graduate of Gaffney High School and Spartanburg Technical College, and served in the U.S. Air Force.
Survivors include his wife, Peggy Fowler Phillips of the home; daughter, Kim Phillips (fiancé David Thompson) of Greenwood, SC; and granddaughter, Anna Grace Easler (fiancé, Johnathan Worley) of Charlotte, NC.
Gene is predeceased by his sister, June Parris.
A graveside service will be held 11:00 AM, Wednesday, July 6, 2022 at Pacolet Memorial Gardens, 141 Memorial Drive, Pacolet, SC 29372, conducted by the Rev. Phillip Park. Visitation will follow at the graveside.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Pacolet United Methodist Church, PO Box 427, Pacolet, SC 29372.
