Roger Miller Black, 62, died Friday, September 19, 2014, at Spartanburg Medical Center. Born June 8, 1952 in Whiteville, NC he was the son of the late John Riley Black Jr. and Alma Miller Black. Mr. Black was employed by Spartan Mills Corporate Office and Windstream Corporation. He was a graduate of Whiteville High School and East Carolina University. Mr. Black earned his private pilot's license and enjoyed flying, riding motorcycles and anything related to technology. He was known for his great sense of humor. Survivors include his wife, Debra and brother, John R. Black III, wife Jeanette of Sparta, NC; nephew, William Everett Black, wife Margaret and daughter Lauren of Washington, DC; niece, Melanie Black Mottershead, husband Kevin and son, Tyson of Singapore and aunt, Dorothy Miller Everett of Evansville, IN. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his grandmother, Annie Edwins Black. Funeral services will be 10:30 AM on Wednesday, September 24, 2014 at Floyd's North Church Street Chapel, 235 N.
