Roberta Taylor Painter, 92, of Spartanburg, SC, died Wednesday, October 12, 2016, at White Oak Estates. Born May 9, 1924, in Spartanburg County, SC, she was the daughter of the late Wade H. Taylor and Lula Cash Taylor and widow of George F. Painter. She was a member of Golightly United Methodist Church of Pauline. Survivors include her daughter, Annette P. Davenport of Spartanburg; granddaughter, Lynn H. Davis of Spartanburg, SC; great-grandchildren, Tyler P. Burgess of Spartanburg, SC, Colby D. Ashe and Carlee E. Ashe, both of Dallas, TX; sister, Susie T. Johnson of Gaffney, SC; and a number of nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by a son, Furman Edward Painter; granddaughter, Julie P. Ashe; sisters, Ellie T. Bonner and Regina T. Willis; and brother, Robert Taylor. Visitation will be 1:00-1:45 PM Saturday, October 15, 2016, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 E. Main St., Spartanburg, SC 29307. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 PM, at the Chapel, conducted by the Rev. Dr. Keith E. Taylor. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Rd., Spartanburg, SC 29307.
