Robert White

Robert Bruce White, 78, of Spartanburg, SC, died Monday, November 23, 2015, at Spartanburg Medical Center. Born August 16, 1937, in Casper, Wyoming, he was the son of the late Steel Bruce White and Julia Doris Mace White. A U. S. Air Force veteran, Mr. White sold, installed, and serviced Allen organs for Case Brothers Music as a loyal employee for over 45 years. He was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church, as well as a member, past District Deputy Grand Master, and past Master of Buckthorn Lodge No. 417. Bob was an avid cook who loved chocolate and enjoyed entertaining. He was a volunteer with Mobile Meals Service, recognized in the Who's Who in the South and Southwest, and attended Oklahoma State University. Survivors include his beloved wife of 54 years, Nancy Christian White; daughter, Jane White Brown (Ashley) of Spartanburg, SC; son, Richard Bruce White of Spartanburg, SC; grandsons, Christian Wood, Carter and Max Brown, all of Spartanburg, SC; nieces, Linda Smith, Kathy Mackey, Judy Turner, Christine Tedesco, and many other nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a sister, Mary Alice Freeman; niece, Janet Moore; and cousin, Ellen "Brownie" Steel. Visitation will be 10:00-10:45 AM Saturday, November 28, 2015, in the Parlor of Bethel United Methodist Church. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 AM, at the church, conducted by the Rev. David E. Nichols. Burial, with Masonic Rites, will be in Westwood Memorial Gardens, 6101 Reidville Rd., Moore, SC 29369. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Bethel United Methodist Church, 245 S.
