Robert Ward

Robert William Ward, 82, of 139 Farmhill Road, died Thursday, January 7, 2010, at the Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home. Born August 24, 1927, in Union County, SC, he was the son of the late James W. and Sybil Mae Storey Ward. He was retired from Progress Lighting, a member of Pacolet United Methodist Church, and a U.S. Air Force Veteran. Survivors include his wife, Betty Rochester Ward; two daughters, Donna Foster of Jonesville, and Debra Easler and husband Ken of Spartanburg; two sons, Ricky Ward and wife Sheryl, and Robert James Ward and wife Cathy, all of Jonesville; a brother, Albert Ward of Rock Hill; three sisters, Elsie Jordon and Margaret Hyatt, both of Greenville, and Sybil Ward of Spartanburg; twelve grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by a son, Barry Ward. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 9, 2010, at Floyd's Pacolet Chapel conducted by the Rev. Patricia McCain and the Rev. Perry Evatt. The family will receive friends following the service at the Chapel. Burial will be in Pacolet Methodist Cemetery.
