Robert Waddell

Robert "Bob" Marvin Waddell, 86, of Inman, SC, died Sunday, September 2, 2018, at his home. Born October 7, 1931, in Spartanburg, he was the son of the late Arthur Marvin Waddell and Frances Wilder Waddell and husband of the late Helen Tipton Waddell. A graduate of Spartanburg High School and U. S. Navy veteran of the Korean War, Mr. Waddell retired from the Spartanburg Herald-Journal after more than 30 years of service as a Composing Room Advertising foreman. He was the former owner of Palmetto Printing and former High School football umpire. He was a member of First Baptist Spartanburg. Survivors include his brother, Don Waddell of Boiling Springs, SC; stepson, David Vaughan (Donna) of Inman, SC; grandsons, Ashley Vaughan (Courtney) of New Prospect, SC and Lane Vaughan of Inman, SC; great grandchildren, Adalyn, Elli, Macklin and Clancy Vaughan; and many special nieces and nephews. Survivors include his brother, Don Waddell of Boiling Springs, SC; and stepson, David Vaughan (Donna) of Inman, SC. A graveside service will be conducted at 11:00 AM Tuesday, September 11, 2018, in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Rd., Spartanburg, SC 29307, by The Rev. Andy Case. Visitation will follow at the graveside.
