Robert "Bob" Glenn Vannoy, Jr., 83, of Spartanburg, SC, died Wednesday, July 15, 2015, at Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home. Born October 23, 1931, in Wilkes County, NC, he was the son of the late Robert Glenn Vannoy, Sr. and Lessie Phillips Vannoy and husband of the late Eulaine Church Dockery Vannoy. Mr. Vannoy retired from First Union Bank and First State Savings & Loan and was the former vice president of Northwestern Bank. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Spartanburg and an active member of Young at Heart and the Al Clark Sunday School Class. He was an avid antique car enthusiast and proud grandfather and great-grandfather. Survivors include his son, Robert Glenn Vannoy III and his wife Miriam of Spartanburg, SC; daughter, Kimberly Vannoy Fisher and her husband Michael of Weaverville, NC; grandchildren, Robert Brady Vannoy and his wife Cynthia Caughman Vannoy of Daniel Island, SC, Natalie Vannoy Howkins and her husband John Huger Howkins III of Atlanta, GA, Emily Vannoy of Myrtle Beach, SC, and Erin Vannoy of Conway, SC; great-grandchildren, Robert "Rob" Brady Vannoy, Jr. and John "Jack" Huger Howkins, IV. In addition to his parents and wife, he was predeceased by his brother and sisters, Cecil Vannoy, Eleanor Vannoy, Susie Vannoy, Betty Bentley, and Inez Vannoy. Visitation will be 3:00-3:45 PM Saturday, July 18, 2015, in the Parlor at First Baptist Church of Spartanburg, 250 E. Main St., Spartanburg, SC 29306. A memorial service will follow at 4:00 PM, in Davis Chapel at the church, conducted by the Rev. Sal Barone. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to SRHS Foundation, Spartanburg Regional Hospice, 101 East Wood Street, Spartanburg, SC 29303. The family is at the home of Robbie and Miriam Vannoy, 253 Lake Forest Drive, Spartanburg, SC 29307.
