Robert M. Tiner, 89, of Boiling Springs, passed away Friday, September 30, 2011, at Dillion Pointe. Born August 20, 1922, in Orangeburg, he was the son of the late Robert Andrew and Mollie Gray Tiner. Mr. Tiner was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church and the Fellowship Sunday School Class. He was a WWII veteran. He served in New Guinea and the Phillipines. He was a heating and air conditioning engineer and was retired from LWT, Inc. He was an avid reader. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Jo Tiner of the home. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Sally Utsey (Frank) of Lakeland, FL; granddaughter, Heather Gay of Jacksonville, FL; stepdaughter, Chris McKelvey of the home; stepson, Michael Evington of Richmond, VA; three step-grandchildren; and four step-great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by a sister, Elizabeth Tiner Baldwin. Visitation will be Tuesday, October 4, 2011 from 11:00 AM-11:45 AM at St. John's Lutheran Church. Funeral services will follow at 12:00 PM, in the church, conducted by Pastor Mike Shackelford, Pastor Emily Edenfield, and Chaplain Dean Cortez. Pallbearers will be Irwin Schwendimann, Eric McKelvey, Michael Evington Tim Duncan, Jeremy Wall, and Leland McKelvey. Burial will be at Boiling Springs Memorial Gardens immediately following the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. John's Lutheran Church Life Center, 415 S.
