Robert Neeley, Sr.

Robert Caldwell Neeley, Sr., 82, of Inman, died Friday, June 28, 2013, at Magnolia Manor in Inman. Born November 15, 1930, in Richland County, SC, he was a son of the late John William Neeley, Jr. and Mary Elizabeth Backstrom Neeley. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran, having served during the Korean Conflict. Mr. Neeley worked as a construction supervisor with Southern Builders and was a member of College Place Methodist Church. Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, Robert C. Neeley, Jr. and Eunice of Inman; granddaughter, Nicole Neeley; great-grandsons, Cole and Joseph Mattison; great-granddaughter, Neeley Mattison; brother, Backstrom Neeley of Jacksonville, FL; sisters-in-law, Lucretia Neeley and Sarah Neeley, both of Columbia, SC. A memorial service will be held at 4:00 PM Tuesday, July 2, 2013, at Floyd's North Church Street Chapel, conducted by the Rev. Dr. Keith Taylor. The family will receive friends following the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to American Diabetes Association, 119 Eastwood Circle, Spartanburg, SC 29302. The family is at the home of his son and daughter-in-law, Robert C.
