Robert Motts

Robert Shelton Motts, 85, of Pacolet, SC went to be with the Lord on Saturday, September 28, 2013 at his home. Born January 20, 1928 in Pacolet, SC, he was a lifelong resident of Pacolet. He was the son of the late Paul and Leila Scales Motts, a graduate of Pacolet High School, attended Cecil's Business College, was a U.S. Navy veteran, a member of Trough Shoals Masonic Lodge #228, and a member of Pacolet Mills Baptist Church. He enjoyed his business at Motts Used Cars until he retired at age 80. He is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Sylvia Jones Motts; step-daughter, Karen Longshore (Tim) of Pacolet; daughter-in-law, Wanda Motts of Pacolet; step-grandsons, Michael Longshore (Sara) of Pacolet and Jeremy Longshore (Jessica) of Gaffney; great-grandchildren, Jackson Longshore, Hunter Longshore and Evelyn Grace Longshore; and brother, Dean Motts (Lisa) of Kinston, NC. He was predeceased by his son, Ricky Dean Motts. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, October 2, 2013 at Floyd's Pacolet Chapel, 141 Memorial Drive, Pacolet, SC 29372, conducted by the Rev. Dr. Robert Ivey and the Rev. Norman Band. Burial will be in Pacolet Memorial Gardens. Visitation will follow at the graveside. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Pacolet Mills Baptist Church Building Fund, P.O.
