Robert Edward "Tommy" Melton, 57, of Cowpens, passed away peacefully Tuesday, April 3, 2012, at his home. Born July 3, 1954, in Orangeburg, SC, he was the son of the late Henry Melton, Jr. and Louise Smith Melton. Tommy worked as a millwright and pipefitter most of his life. He attended Mount Olive Baptist Church where he gave his life to the Lord. He is survived by his wife, Marylou Melton, and mother-in-law, "Granny" Judy Power, of the home; brother, Donald Melton and wife Joy of Spartanburg; nephews, Derrick and Jason Ellis, Richard Melton, Ryan Miller, and Daniel Dubay; nieces, Sherry Rodriguez and Monica Gibson; and several great nephews and nieces. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a sister, Patricia Gahagan. Visitation will be 7:00-9:00 PM Friday, April 6, 2012, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel. A graveside service will be conducted at 11:00 AM Saturday, April 7, 2012, in Mount Olive Baptist Church Cemetery, by the Rev. Dr. Robert W.
