Robert Mccraw

Robert K. "Sonny" McCraw (Pason), 74, Spartanburg, died Friday, March 4, 2011 at his home. Born December 11, 1936 in Chesnee, he was the son of the late Charles Huggins and Leila Mae Parris McCraw. He was owner and operator of McCraw's Barber Shop, a graduate of Moler Barber School, a member of Calvary Baptist Church of Spartanburg where he was a deacon, usher, trustee, and a Sunday School teacher at White Oak Manor. He was former commissioner of Hilltop Fire District, a member of St. John's Masonic Lodge #333, the Hejaz Shrine Temple, and a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in the Korean War. Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Jeraldine Miller "Jerri" McCraw; a son, Robert "Rick" Kenneth (Tammy Campbell) McCraw, Jr. of Boiling Springs; four grandchildren, Hannah McCraw, Victoria McCraw, and Chandler "Brack" McCraw of Boiling Springs, and Brandon Ross of Conway; and a brother Charles H. McCraw, Jr. of Charleston. He was predeceased by two daughters, Patricia Lynn Ross and Laronda Juel McCraw; a sister, Shirley Ruth Gray; and three close friends, Tommy Petty, Barney Altman and Cecil Clardy. Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 PM Saturday, March 5, 2011, with Masonic Rites at 5:30 PM at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday, March 6, 2011 at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, conducted by the Rev. Scott Linnerud. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be made to Calvary Baptist Church of Spartanburg Building Fund, 577 North Church Street, Spartanburg, SC 29303. The family is at the home.
