Robert Lee “Bob” Wilson, 95, a longtime resident of Spartanburg, passed away on Saturday evening, February 10, 2024, at Park West Hospital in Knoxville, TN. Born on August 22, 1928, in Belton, SC, Bob was the son of the late Sadie Ammons and Henry Grady Wilson. He was married to the late Helen White Wilson for 57 wonderful years.
Bob attended Ebenezer United Methodist Church in Knoxville and was previously a longtime member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Spartanburg. Bob was a veteran of the US Navy serving during the Korean War, was retired from Plantation Pipeline Co, and was a dedicated member of the Spartanburg Ruritan Club.
Surviving are his two daughters, Pamela W. Arms (Larry) of Knoxville, TN and Jennifer W. Cockerham (Joseph) of Raleigh, NC; his 5 grandchildren, Kristen Arms Overbay (Jesse), Stephanie Arms Cox (Mitchell), Heather Arms Willey (Aaron), Jake Luther Cockerham and Logan Henry Cockerham; his 8 great-grandchildren, Jenna, Ethan and Graham Overbay, Hailey, Camden and Bryce Cox, and Emery and Davis Willey; his sister, Sara Wilson Stegall of Anderson, SC; and his longtime dear friend, Dot Hull. Bob was also predeceased by a daughter, Donna Leigh Wilson.
A graveside service for Bob’s family was held on Thursday, February 15, 2024, at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens in Spartanburg, SC, conducted by the Rev. Sherry Morrow Wood.
