Robert P. "Pete" Jolley, Sr., 95, of 815 Ridgedale Drive, died Saturday, August 14, 2010, at Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home. Born July 9, 1915, in Spartanburg, he was a son of the late Barney B. Jolley and Anna Godfrey Jolley. He was retired from Gulf Oil Corp. after 32 years of service and was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. He was a life member of Spartan Lodge #70, the Spartanburg Shrine Club, and V.F.W. 9539. Mr. Jolley was also a member of the Scottish Rite Body, Panama City, FL; the Jamil Temple, Columbia, SC; and McGregor Presbyterian Church, Irmo, SC. Survivors are his wife, Frances Wall Jolley; two sons, Robert P. Jolley, Jr. and wife Allyson, and Richard B. Jolley and wife Rhonda, all of Spartanburg; four grandsons, Robert P. Jolley III of Duncan, Richard N. Jolley of Columbia, Andrew Jolley and Cody Jolley, both of Spartanburg; three granddaughters, Tabitha Jolley of Franklin, NC, Tiffany Jolley and Tara Lambert, both of Spartanburg; and ten great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by a grandson, Patrick Drew Jolley; a brother, Roscoe B. Jolley; and three sisters, Thelma J. Hendrick, Nora J. Morrow, and Della J. Hunt. Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 p.m. Monday, August 16, 2010, at Floyd's North Church Street Chapel. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 17, 2010 at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, conducted by the Rev. Clegg Taylor. The family is at the home.
