Robert Gray

Robert Ervin Gray, 76, of 308 Dupre Drive, died Friday, August 26, 2011, at his home. Born October 8, 1934, in Belmont, NC, he was the son of the late Lucious Samuel and Flossie Lee Hope Gray. He was retired after 32 years as a manager with Carolina Cash and was a member of Ben Avon Baptist Church where he was a Sunday School teacher and sang with the Good Newsman Quartet. Survivors include his wife of 22 years, Donna Rhinehart Gray; three daughters, Nancy Morgan (Rick) and Robin Black, all of Boiling Springs, SC, and Vickie Duncan (Robert) of Athens, GA; a son, Danny Gray (Myra) of Carrollton, VA; two stepdaughters, Kim Fleming-Whisnant (Greg) of Spartanburg and Lisa Stephens (Gary) of Cowpens, SC; 16 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and a beloved aunt, Jean Rothrock of Spartanburg. Mr. Gray was predeceased by a son, Bobby Gray; a stepson, Eric Fleming; and a son-in-law, Darrell Black. Visitation will be 1:30-2:45 PM on Monday, August 29, 2011, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel. Funeral services will follow at 3:00 PM in the Chapel, conducted by the Rev. Richard H. King and Mr. Greg Gray. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.
