Robert Garner

Robert "Robbie" C. Garner, 68, of Moore, SC, died Sunday, September 27, 2015, at Spartanburg Medical Center. Born July 24, 1947, in Gaffney, SC, he was the son of the late Charles E. and Violet McCullough Garner. Mr. Garner was a self-employed carpet installer, subcontracting with Hodge Carpets for 45 years. He was an avid golfer and member of Cotton Creek and Heddles Hideaway Golf Clubs. Robbie enjoyed spending time with his golfing buddies, he was avid Gamecock fan, loved all collegiate sports, and enjoyed being with his grandchildren. He was a hardworking dedicated family man. Surviving are his beloved wife of 45 years, Anne Millwood Garner; children, Christine Clavenna of Inman, SC, Jamie Paul Garner, Joel Charles Garner, Richard Harold Brook, II, all of Moore, SC; grandchildren, Nicholas Clavenna, Wesley Garner, Tyler Davis, Katelyn Garner Britt, Jamie Garner; great-grandchild, Robert Charles Britt; brothers, James E. Garner of Moore, SC and Ronnie Garner of Roebuck, SC, sister, Jan Christine Hill of Spartanburg, SC; and numerous nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his best friend "Bella", his border collie. Visitation will be 12:30-1:45 PM Thursday, October 1, 2015, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 E. Main St., Spartanburg, SC 29307 with funeral services following at 2:00 PM, conducted by the Rev. Dr. Tim Williams. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Rd., Spartanburg, SC 29307.
