Robert Edwards

Robert "Bob" Franklin Edwards, 86, of Boiling Springs, SC, died Sunday, May 21, 2017, at Summit Hills Assisted Living-Spartanburg. Born June 15, 1930, in Townville, SC, he was the son of the late Robert Lee Edwards and Ada Thomas Edwards, and husband of 63 years to the late Sibyl Jean Hall Edwards. A U. S. Army veteran of the Korean War, Mr. Edwards was a member of First Baptist Church of Valley Falls and retired from Arkwright Mill. He enjoyed fishing, camping, spending time with his children and grandchildren at the beach, and he was also a Shriner. Survivors include his children, Denise Parker of Boiling Springs, SC, Robby Edwards (Mary) of Inman, SC, Randy Edwards (Julia Anne) of Seneca, SC, Roger Edwards (Sandra) of Boiling Springs, SC; 12 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren and 3 "on the way"; daughters-in-law, Anna Edwards of Boiling Springs and Paula Scruggs Edwards of Columbus, NC; sisters, Virginia Dillard (Bill) and Sue Fowler (General), all of Spartanburg, SC; and brother, Jerry Edwards (Linda) of Spartanburg, SC. In addition to his parents and wife, he was predeceased by a son, Rusty Edwards; son-in-law, L. Earl Parker; daughter-in-law, Debbie Horton Edwards; sisters, Mildred Lawrence, Rosa Lee Harvey, and Frances Cheek; and brothers, Novis Edwards, Truman Edwards, and James Edwards. A graveside service, with military rites, will be conducted at 2:30 PM Thursday, May 25, 2017, in Good Shepherd Memorial Park, 4164 Boiling Springs Rd., Boiling Springs, SC 29316, by the Rev. Andy Case. Visitation will follow at the graveside. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Robert Franklin Edwards Memorial Fund c/o The J. F.
