Robert Bruce

Robert Myers Bruce, 97, of Roebuck, SC, died Thursday, August 14, 2014, at Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home. Born September 16, 1916, he was the son of the late Thomas J. Bruce and Annie Hill Bruce and widower of Harriett Grace Genobles Bruce. Mr. Bruce was a retired from Reeves Brothers were he worked in the supply room. He was the oldest member of Roebuck Baptist Church where he attended for 70 years, and a 72 year member of the Roebuck Masonic Lodge. Survivors include his son, Michael L. Bruce (Debbie) of Roebuck, SC; daughter-in-law, Peggy Bruce of Roebuck, SC; eight grandchildren; ten great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild; brother, Herbert Bruce of Roebuck, SC, and sisters, Floride Sudduth of Cary, NC, Margaret Tapp of Roebuck, SC, Blondell Mease of Fletcher, NC and Elaine Wood of Roebuck, SC. He was predeceased by two sons, Julius M. Bruce and Ray Bruce; brother, Thomas Ambrose, and sister, Merle White. Visitation will be held from 2:00-2:45 PM, on Saturday, August 16, 2014, at Roebuck Baptist Church, 1979 East Blackstock Rd., Roebuck, SC 29376, with services following at 3:00 PM, conducted by Rev. Dr. Tim Williams and Rev. Ondra Black. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
