Robert "Bob" Claude Brown, 85, of Pauline, SC, died Thursday, January 15, 2015, at his home. Born September 27, 1929, in Spartanburg, SC, he was the son of the late John Basil Brown, Jr. and Johnnie Burgess Brown. A U. S. Air Force veteran, he flew 100 missions over Korea as an F86 pilot. He was a 1950 graduate of Clemson University and enjoyed his career as a livestock auctioneer. He was also a member of Southside Baptist Church where he was a deacon and Sunday School Department Director. Surviving is his cherished wife of 63 years, Patsy Ruth Ellis Brown; children, David Ellis Brown of Pauline, SC, Robert Todd Brown of Moore, SC, and Linda Diane Brown (David) Covington of Raleigh, NC; grandchildren, Ann Marie Brown (Javier) Sinobas, Robert Matthew Brown, Meredith Leigh Covington (Ryan) Clayton, and Jonathan Robert Covington; great-grandchildren, Isabella Marie Sinobas, Ariana Sinobas, and Maggie Leigh Clayton; and sister, Edith Brown Foster of Davidson, NC. He was predeceased by his son, Robert Claude Brown, Jr.; and brothers, T. Edward Brown, John B. Brown III, and Hugh B. Brown. Visitation will be 10:00-10:45 AM Saturday, January 17, 2015, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 E. Main St., Spartanburg, SC 29307. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 AM, at the Chapel, conducted by the Rev. Dr. Schuyler Peterson and the Rev. David Blanton. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Rd., Spartanburg, SC 29307.
