Robert "Bob" Gettys Brannon Jr., 61, of Spartanburg, died Thursday, January 31, 2013, at Windsor House-Spartanburg. Born March 22, 1951, in Spartanburg, he was the son of the late Robert Gettys Brannon Sr. and Mary Frances Higgins Brannon. A graduate of Spartanburg High School and Wofford College, Mr. Brannon was an avid supporter of Wofford athletics. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Gaffney and a former member of Calvary Baptist Church of Spartanburg. Survivors include his children, Robert Gettys Brannon III and Avra Callie Brannon, both of Gaffney, and their mother, Kathy Brannon-McCraw; aunts, Elizabeth Rabago and Catherine Higgins, both of Spartanburg; cousins, Nena Jolley (Michael), Louise Henson (Larry), Steve Brannon, Joe Higgins (Neeley); nieces, Chassidy Toler (Brian), Molly Sanders Coyle, Deanna Simmons, Chelsea Brown, and Courtney Brown; nephew, Inman Love; in-laws, Karen Love (Mitchell), Kim Ramsey, Paul Brown (Penny), and Charlie Brown. He was predeceased by his mother-in-law, Carolyn Powell Brown. Visitation will be 3:00-3:45 PM Sunday, February 3, 2013, at Floyd's North Church Street Chapel. Funeral services will follow at 4:00 PM, at the Chapel, conducted by the Rev. Joel Sellars. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers are Mitchell Love, Paul Edge, Inman Love, Randy Horton, DaQuan Shippy, Joe McKowen, Mike Evans, and Bill Avra.
