Rita Smith

Rita Cecelia O'Leary Smith, 71, of 422 Crepe Myrtle Drive, Greer, died Saturday, February 16, 2013, at the Village at Pelham Hospital. Born November 1, 1941, in Zaleski, OH, she was a daughter of the late Charles "Mike" and Dorothea Frances Allberry O'Leary and widow of William E. "Bill" Smith. She was a veteran of the U. S. Navy, an avid reader, and loved to crochet afghans for her family. Survivors include three sons, Tony Smith of the home, Tim (Nancy) Morley of Grand Island, FL, and Ted Smith of Greer; two daughters, Holly Smith of Middletown, OH and Teresa Smith of Greer; eight grandchildren, Heather Briere, Amy Briere, T. J. Morley, Nick Morley, Jennifer Morley, Chris Dawson, Allisha Morris and Miranda Baker; five sisters, Sally Mello of Newport, RI, Donna Gray of Wellston, OH, Jan O'Leary of Miamisburg, OH, Peggy Smith of Columbus Grove, OH and Nancy O'Leary of Rhode Island; and a brother, Jim O'Leary of Wellston, OH. She was predeceased by two sisters, Mary O'Leary Ousley and Rose O'Leary Christian; and two brothers, Pat and Charles O'Leary. Services will be conducted at 6:00 PM Wednesday, February 20, 2013, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 East Main Street, Spartanburg, SC 29307, by the Rev. Frank Palmieri, with visitation following until 8:00 PM. The family suggests that memorials be made to the American Heart Association, 3535 Pelham Road Suite 101, Greenville, SC 29615.
