Rick C. Guy

Rick C. Guy, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather, passed away on Friday, December 22, 2023, in Spartanburg, SC. He was born on October 15, 1950, in Spartanburg to the late, Herbert Lee Guy and Ruby Patterson Guy.

Rick had a fulfilling career of thirty years for the Spartanburg Herald Journal. Beyond his professional life,  He enjoyed woodworking and fishing.

Rick is survived by his loving wife of 32 years, Brenda Swofford Guy. He also leaves behind his children, Lisa McCarter (James), Ricky Guy II and Matthew Guy (Kiamesha), and Dana Phillips (Al); eleven grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.  He is also survived by his brother, Danny Guy (Pat).

In addition to his parents, Rick was predeceased by a son, Travis Putnam, a sister, Pat Bryant and a brother-in-law, Ed Bryant.

A graveside service to honor Rick's life will be held at 12:00 pm. Thursday, December 28, 2023, at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale RD, Spartanburg.  Minister Al Phillips will officiate. 

Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel is assisting the family.
