Richard "Rich" White

Richard “Rich” White, 52, of Spartanburg, SC, died Monday, May 30, 2022 at Spartanburg Medical Center. Born April 2, 1970 in Spartanburg, SC, he was the son of Nancy Christian White and the late Robert Bruce White.

A US Navy veteran for 10 years, Mr. White attended USC-Upstate, he was employed with Walmart on East Main Street in Spartanburg, SC. An avid reader, he was quiet, thoughtful and kind. He was a lifelong member of Bethel United Methodist Church.

Survivors include his mother, Nancy Christian White, and his sister, Jane W. Brown, both of Spartanburg, SC, a nephew, Christian Wood, cousins, Christine Tedesco (Rob Silance) and Marlynna Haas (Michael), along with numerous beloved other cousins, aunts and uncles, and his precious black lab, “Elvis.”

Visitation will be 12:30 – 1:30 pm Friday, June 3, 2022 at Bethel United Methodist Church Parlor, 245 S. Church Street Ext., Spartanburg, SC 29306. A Funeral service will be at 2:00 pm at the church, conducted by The Rev. Brad Gray and The Rev. Megan Gray. Burial with military rites will follow in Westwood Memorial Gardens, 6101 Reidville Road, Moore, SC 29369.
