Richard "Dick" Kugler, 84, of Spartanburg, SC, formerly of Coggins Shore Drive-Lake Bowen, died Thursday, September 24, 2015, at Spartanburg Medical Center. Born July 16, 1931, in Jersey City, NJ, he was the son of the late George M. and Erma Taylor Kugler. A U. S. Army veteran, Mr. Kugler was retired from Cherokee County Schools as a Special Education teacher for the hearing impaired. He was a member of Morningside Baptist Church where he participated in both choirs, served as a Sunday School Teacher, was an active volunteer with the ESOL Ministry, and a Boy Scout District Commissioner. He remained an active member and was past-president of the Spartanburg Optimist Club. Survivors include his cherished wife of 60 years, Judy Kugler; daughter, Debbie Kugler of Tampa, FL; son, Richard A. Kugler Jr. (Kathy) of Landrum, SC; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and special cousin, Mildred M. Kugler of Springfield, VA. Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 PM Saturday, September 26, 2015, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 E. Main St., Spartanburg, SC 29307. Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 PM Sunday, September 27, 2015, at Morningside Baptist Church, by the Rev. Robert C. Morgan. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Rd., Spartanburg, SC 29307. Memorials may be made to Morningside Baptist Church Scouting or Music Programs, 897 S.
